Match Information
It’s another Cup Saturday for Saints, as we head to Maryfield Park for another clash with Abbey Vale. This time in the Haig Gordon Memorial Trophy.
It’ll be our fourth cup tie in just over a month, in a run of games that’s seen Saints eliminated from the Scottish Cup at the Second Round by Gala Fairydean Rovers, progress in the Tweedie Cup against this weekend’s opponents, and reach the Third Round of the South Region Challenge Cup before being knocked out by Linlithgow Rose last time out.
Without any league action for two months now, our only league match of this month was postponed due to a COVID outbreak, Saints are top of the South of Scotland League Table by just a point.
Abbey Vale meanwhile are third in the league, three points back and having played a game more. Their last three games are a win, draw, and loss. Eliminated from the Tweedie Cup by Saints, beating Lochmaben 5-1 in a league match, and last week’s 2-2 draw with Mid Annandale.
Previous Meeting
Our last match against Abbey Vale was a 6-0 win in the Tweedie Cup earlier this month. Goals for Saints were scored by Thomas Kelly, Luke Currie, Dale Milligan, Scott Ballantyne, and Ross Hunter (2).
Saints also met Abbey Vale in the league already this season, we took all three points at St Mary’s after two penalties helped Saints comeback from being 2-1 down to win 3-2.
How to Stay Up to Date
We’ll have match updates on both Facebook and Twitter.
