Match Information

It’s derby weekend for Saints as we make the short trip to Castle Douglas to take on rivals Threave Rovers.

It’s a match that could major implications for the destination of the league title, three points in this fixture would give Saints a commanding seven point lead at the top of the South of Scotland table.

St Cuthbert Wanderers bounced back from the cup exit in the midweek against Queen of the South with a convincing 6-3 win against Wigtown & Bladnoch.

Threave Rovers also exited the SCFA Challenge Cup at the weekend losing 3-2 in extra time to Upper Annandale.

Pre-Match Comments

It’s another league game and another opportunity to pick up three points. We’re in a good position at the moment, mo matter the result we’ll still be top come close of play.

But for the players and staff, make no mistake they are up for the derby. They want the bragging rights and to put in a good performance for the fans.

It’s about channelling that energy in the right way and making sure we play in the manner we want.
